Gone for Dylan's Wedding

While we were in Sacramento for vacation over the summer, Pete and I took an unheard of vacation by ourselves. Dylan and Christina were getting married in San Francisco, and Pete was in the wedding. So we left Cecilia in the good hands of Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Bruce and Auntie Karen for 5 days while we frolicked in SF.

Several friends from Philly were also in town for the big event - Cassie and her boyfriend Justin, Heather and her boyfriend Anthony. We stayed with them at an awesome condo in SF, which was on top of a big hill and had an awesome view of the bay.

A few highlights in San Francisco included going to Coit Tower:

Going to a SF Giants game with everyone:

And eating at The House, one of my favorite restaurants in SF.

The wedding was at St. Peter and Paul's Church, which was absolutely gorgeous.

They chartered a cable car to take us to the reception, which was super cool.

The route it took went right along the ocean, with some breath-taking views. It stopped on the way to reception to take some nice photos. Although it's difficult to see the bridge in the background, the fog added a nice effect.

The reception was at this exclusive club just south of the city... probably one of the ritziest weddings I've been to, and really fun!

LinkFor those interested in pics of our SF vacation, they can be found here (no pics of Cecilia in this set).

Of course, no post would be complete without stories and pictures of Cecilia. I have to admit, we were pretty anxious about leaving her for that long (at least I was), but she seemed to do absolutely wonderfully. Karen was nice enough to send these photos and videos along via phone so that we didn't miss her so much. They kept super busy while we were away. One day, they went to the zoo, to Fairy Tale Town another day, and a bunch of other things.

Temperatures were running in the high 90's that week in Sacramento, and apparently, Cecilia was allowed to have one sno-cone at each special location. Look at the photos below - you will see three different outfits, and three different sno-cones. :) Even Grandma got to eat some.

One night, Grandpa was watering the lawn. Karen took these videos with her phone, and they are super fuzzy, but you can kind of get the general idea of what is happening. It looks like Cecilia is having SO much fun running through the sprinklers with Grandma.

We had a nice time in SF, but we missed the little girl SO much. When we got home, Cecilia opened the door and ran into our arms. She grabbed each of our heads and gave us about a million kisses. Best feeling in the world. :)
