About a month ago, we first went to dim sum with Ben, Jen, Aaron, and Jacob (and some other friends), and then went for a long walk on the Greenway. Here are Cecilia and her cousins at dim sum:
We made it to the big fountains where all the kids changed into their swimsuits and had a blast running in and out of the water. They were actually pretty powerful water jets, and a little too big for Cecilia but she still had a lot of fun. Here are a few pictures and a video:
The kids watched the seals outside the aquarium for a while and then ran around on these skateboard ramps before heading home:
The playroom in Grandma's building has tons of stuff for little kids to play with. There are several cars that you can drive. If you look closely, Cecilia is carrying a large cup, which she calls her coffee. She drinks while she is driving - she must be getting that from Daddy...
We played some puzzles and read some books. And she had fun for a while hammering on nails. She learned that if you hammer in the nails, then turn the toy around, you can do it again! Endless fun:
Finally, the most fun new toy in the room is an indoor roller coaster. I have to say, this looked really really fun. If I wasn't so afraid of breaking it, I would have tried it myself. She rode this about 100 times and figured out how to push the little cart back up the ramp herself.
She eventually figured out how to go backwards too:

We had a long weekend for the fourth of July, and we decided to spend the time in New York City - Cecilia always loves going to grandma's house! On Friday, Elaine came over for lunch and we had a very nice visit.
We mentioned that Cecilia loves to be in the water and we go to the beach all the time, and Grandma found yet another beach for Cecilia to go to. Susan and Richard (Carol's friends) nicely invited us to their lakefront house in New Jersey. Their neighbors have several grandchildren, and as part of their lakefront property, have an area set up for kids, including a slide:
They put up a great lunch for us - Cecilia even got her own little chair!
Afterwards, we walked to a sandy beach on the lake, which was only a quarter of a mile away, and Cecilia had ton of fun jumping in the water and playing with the sand.
The rest of the weekend was great too! One day we did try to go to the Natural History Museum, but it was absolutely crazy there partly because of the drizzly weather, and partly because of all the tourists in town during the holidays. We spent about an hour there, saw some animals, and then headed home.
One morning, we went to one of the playgrounds near grandma's house, famously known as the "Hippo Playground," where there are small fountains of water coming out of the mouths of metal hippos built into the ground of the playground. As with any water play, Cecilia had a ton of fun:
She also very much enjoyed riding on some of the bouncing animals:
Finally, while Daddy and Grandma were getting some much-needed rest one afternoon, Cecilia and Mommy went down to the play room in Grandma's building. There are a lot of videos and pictures from that one afternoon, so I'll make a different post about that. Otherwise, the remainder of the photos can be found here.
Cecilia absolutely loved all the carnival rides. I have a million videos, so here are a few select ones. This was the first time she ever rode a ride by herself, so I was a little anxious, probably more anxious than Cecilia. :)
But she did absolutely wonderfully, and after she had one ride under her belt, she insisted on many many more. For the die hard fans, here are links to two more videos of her riding on the train:
She was able to do many more things at York Animal Kingdom. She rode a spaceship:
And later in the day, Aaron and Jacob joined her in the same spaceship and they were all able to save the earth together!
Cecilia also was able to ride a boat:
As you can tell, she very much enjoyed ringing the bell in the boat.
And then finally, she rode a small ladybug roller coaster. I swear she almost fell asleep on this one while holding on for dear life. And even though she was exhausted, she got off of the ladybug asking for "more rides!" But she was so tired, we decided to make this one of the last rides of the day.
A few weeks ago, we went to York Animal Kingdom in Maine, which has a small zoo, and a small carnival area with rides. We went with Aaron, Jacob, Abby and Olivia (and their parents of course), and all the kids had a ton of fun! We went to the zoo first, and Cecilia loved feeding the animals. There were ducks, geese, sheep, goats, pigs, and even deer to feed! Here is a video of her feeding the goats. They started getting a little aggressive so you can see Cecilia getting a little anxious, which is super cute. After that, we fed the -baby- goats, which Cecilia loved.
There are about a bazillion videos of pics of Cecilia on various rides, which will be in the next post. Afterwards, we all went to the beach in York, just for 30 minutes in the surf and sand.
Here is a very small collection of pictures. Unfortunately all I had was my phone so I didn't get great shots of all the other kids together...
